by Fans of silver armor and exploding Chaos daemons will be happy to hear that Games Workshop has ushered a new Combat Patrol for the Grey Knights into their lineup. The Crowe’s Sanctifiers box will be led by none other than Castellan Crowe who is taking his ability to put boot to ass to the smaller battlefields of Warhammer 40,000’s Combat Patrol games.
In the box, you will get a 10-man Strike Squad, a unit of five Brotherhood Terminators, and a Venerable Dreadnought armed with a twin lascannon to rip enemy armor to pieces. The older model featured a Dreadknight, but that model is currently getting an update, so it looks like they opted for the Venerable Dreadbought instead. Honestly, the Venerable Dreadnought is an absolute beauty, so it’s hard to be mad.
With the new 10th Edition Codex on the horizon, this is not a bad way to start, or add to, your Grey Knights force if you don’t already have the Crowe and Venerable Dreadnought models. We don’t have an exact date for when that Codex will be up for pre-order just yet. GW has promised new Detachments and Crusade campaign rules, but it remains to be seen how they will land with the faithful.
When you consider that the 11th Edition of Warhammer 40,000 is likely to drop next year, you have to wonder how this extended release cycle for the Codex books and truncated Edition cycle will impact the morale of players.
