Just this Saturday, Games Workshop put their latest Space Wolves models for Warhammer 40,000 up for pre-order, and it has to be said, they have the it factor that much of the Space Marine line is lacking these days. As well as the Codex for the 10th edition, you could order Logan Grimnar, the Chapter Master, accompanied by two wolves on a huge tactical rock.
Njal Stormcaller, noted Rune Priest and keeper of cool, part robot birds, is also in the mix. The Arjac Rockfist sculpt is one of my favorites, showing a real sense of dynamic movement, including a great alternate arm that is throwing a hammer.
The Wolf Priest looks diabolically cool with his hood up, bolter ready, and peppy stride, and we have a Wolf Guard Battle Leader with a multipart kit, including several head options. The Terminators look fantastic and are an interesting mix of the classic Wolf Guard and the newer armor designs.
After that come more standard troops with the Headtakers, Blood Claws, and Grey Hunters all offering a little more visual interest and excitement than just the “tacticool” vibes that modern Space Marines are so focused on.
They can all be pre-ordered now from Games Workshop, and while Space Wolves have always been more visually interesting than most other Space Marine Chapters, almost everything about this range is leagues ahead of the majority of the modern range. The new Dark Angels come close, but there is so much character in these that it makes me want to try and not hate 10th Edition.
