Games Workshop has released a stunning cinematic trailer for the upcoming new edition of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy. Why do a CGI cinematic trailer for a tabletop wargame, you ask? Because, why not? Besides, with Henry Cavill’s Warhammer Cinematic Universe on the way with Amazon, now is definitely the time to start getting people used to the idea that your favorite heroes and characters will be coming to the screen.

Leaks had already somewhat spoiled the surprise, but very old fans (okay, me) will instantly recognize the Saturine armor on display, and we will be getting both Saturine Terminators and a monstrous Saturine Dreadnought in the upcoming boxed set.

Lore lovers will be excited to see both Valdor and Malcador talking to each other to open the trailer, two essential characters in how the Imperium functions under the rule of the Emperor of Mankind during the Horus Heresy.

After that, we travel to Isstvan V, the site of the betrayal orchestrated by Horus and his fellow traitors against the Space Marines still loyal to the Emperor. We get to see plenty of action as Iron Warriors and Salamanders go toe-to-toe, ripping each other to shreds with insane weapons, devastating war machines, and an unstoppable hatred for each other.

We have no fixed release date for the new edition of Warhammer: The Horus Heresy just yet, but you can rest assured that we will be hanging on every community post from Games Workshop until that date is announced.

Aidan started in the hobby all the way back in 1989 with Hero Quest, quickly getting into Space Crusade, and then on into second edition Warhammer 40,000. Over the years he has played just about everything you can think of, but current favorite are Cyberpunk Red Combat Zone, Horus Heresy, Trench Crusade, and Dungeons and Dragons.
